Since we launched this site to train people on how to start recharge card business in Nigeria, one of the frequently asked questions, is “how much does it cost to start up selling recharge cards in bricks, in Nigeria” ?
Well, you can start recharge card business in Nigeria with any amount above N10,000.
How much you can start with really depends on the subdealer or dealer that will sell the recharge cards to you. Those subdealers or dealers do have minimum quantity of recharge cards you must order for, as a wholesaler. Some will even tell you that you must order for recharge cards of all networks if you want them to sell to you at wholesale price.
Now, let’s assume a dealer says you must buy at least 100 pieces of Glo, MTN, Etisalat and Airtel for you to qualify to get the recharge cards at whole sale price, that means you will be needing around N40,000 to raise your order with such dealer.
But if the dealers says you can get the cards at wholesale price by ordering for at least 100 pieces of any network, that means you will be able to raise the order if you have N10,000. In this case, if the dealer will sell to you at N95 per recharge card, that means the 100 pieces will cost you N9,500.
Kindly note that a brick of recharge card contains 10 pieces. i.e a sheet of A4 paper with 10 vouchers on it, is called a brick. Hence, 10 bricks equals 100 vouchers.
I hope this helps.
